“Come dressed and ready to move” Interview (help!)
Hello everyone! So I have a job interview at the gym Friday. While I was on the phone with the head trainer he told me to basically come dressed to workout just in case I have to show them some moves. I am not used to going dressed in gym clothes to an interview so what would you suggest I wear?
Also..I know some gyms have you show them a workout. I have been a trainer for a few years but I am freaking out a bit (an audience watching!) does anyone know what they have you show them? Any suggestions on how I could prepare? Or have any of you had to do this? What did have to do?
Any suggestions/comments will help!
Hi Missy,
Go in to the interview with confidence and a smile, you know your stuff. I would wear a nice workout out top with black workout pants (I usually wear long ones, but that’s me), and a nice, fitted zip up jacket on top of that (no hoodies and fitted jacket, not loose). That’s my go-to for many different occasions, and it looks very professional.
Just remember, if they ask you to do some moves, great–keep progressions and regressions in mind, and be confident and professional. It’s not all about the moves, it’s also about how you will interact with clients, so that is something to consider.
Know your strong points, and you will do great!
Best of luck to you,
Christine
