I require a 24-hour notice, and my clients abide by it well. But clients also call you first thing in the morning after they woke up sick. I never charge or penalize them for that. If I ever encounter a situation where I feel taken advantage of, I address it right there and then individually.
I have only one couple who takes extended vacations with a motor home. The arrangement is that ‘I will take them back’ but not necessarily at the time slot that they had before.
