Circuit Class redesign when we are able to reopen our Studios.
Typically I teach circuit classes with a maximum of 4 participants. I’m trying to come up with ideas on how to redesign the workouts I offer when we are allowed to reopen our fitness studios. Should I be taking non contact temperatures for each person entering my Studio? And, in order to maintain social distance during the workout, maybe designing the workout so that each participant stays in her own 10 diameter space?
My Studio is 600 sq feet and I never have more than 4 people at a time. Clearly every surface needs to be sanitized pre and post workout. Has anyone seen any guidance for fitness studios to reopen? Any ideas out there are appreciated?
Hi Susanna,
I think that’s a good idea to keep everyone at their own space since you only want them to touch their own tools (weights, tubing, medicine balls etc.) if they rotate to a different station they will not be able to do that. I own a gym where we conduct classes and I went from 20 in a room to 7. I do not do temp. checks because I read somewhere that if people have low grade fevers and they take Ibprophen or Tylenol that will mask over the symptoms anyway, so I decided not to do temp. checks I do have a waiver that asks the question if they have had COVID and/or have recently been around anyone that has it. You have to hope for honesty here. Also, state on the waiver that you have the right to refuse anyone from doing a workout, if you suspect a cold or other symptoms. Wishing you the best! hope this helps
