Charging for a master class
we were asked by a corporate fitness facility to come to their facility to teach a master class to their group fitness employees via our dance fitness format. they said that almost 100 of their employed group fitness instructors show up to take the master classes that their corporate fitness employer offers to them. i told the corporate fitness facility that we would charge $20 person in advanced & $25 at the door. they told us that they don’t charge their group fitness instructors to take the master classes. so meaning, the corporate fitness facility would pay us to go teach one master class. our format offers 6.5 AFAA ceu’s for certification, 4 ceu’s for taking a workshop, & 4 ceu’s for taking our practical trainings. Now question, how much should we charge the corporate fitness facility for us to teach one master class to their group fitness employees?
Hi Rocio – Sue made a great suggestion by calculating your time. I am a master trainer for a group exercise modality. What I like to do with my facilities that host a training for me is do a free master class for them but encourage them to charge a nominal fee i.e. $5 or $10 and choose a charity of their choice and donate the monies to a charity. It is good PR for them and you.
