I have a client who fell off a horse when young, doesn’t believe she fractured anything but might have done ligament and/or other soft tissue damage. She can’t remember. However, she can’t use the leg press machine or the standing full elliptical machine, as her hips hurt a day later. What exercises would you suggest I avoid or include in her program design?
I would have the hip evaluated by her physician. There is clearly some type of structural issue if this still causes pain. It is most likely arthritic in nature, but before beginning any exercise program you have to rule out the possibility of causing more damage.
