Can I hire personal trainers that are certified to work in my personal training studio even if Im still not certified? I got my personal training education at National Personal Training Institue Orlando Florida, unfortunately even though this is a very structure school as is theories and hands on I don’t think insurance company recognize them as the other agencies. Im working toward my certification with ACE, however I have a rented location with equipment as an opportunity open up for me. I understand that liability is a big issue that is why I would not train until I get certified, however I have the location and everything in place. Your thoughts on this. Thanks
Hello Ivelyse Figueroa,
Yes, absolutely; anyone training people should be certified to avoid liability issues. You are making the right, professional decision to hire certified trainers. Just be sure to ask for proof of training, CPR certs and current insurance.

Separate thought – several of my friends graduated from NPTI in my area and sat for the NASM certification right after their coursework was completed. They both sailed through with flying colors. So hopefully you can sit for the ACE exam without too much trouble. With the time and effort you put into NPTI, I would think there would be very little left to study.
I need to amend that statement. You shouldn’t have any issues with legally being able to hire trainers to work in your studio. There could be all sorts of other issues that go with hiring or even contracting anyone to work for you.
And of course we here are not necessarily legal experts. I would find someone in Orlando that can give you answers about the legal necessities in your area.
