Thanks for the feedback Paul. More specifically I want to pass the videos along that I haven’t watched or utilized so the monies I have paid have not been utilized. Almost like giving away concert tickets that I will not be attending.
I definitely wouldn’t pass along a video I’ve already received credit for, I agree that is unethical. But if I haven’t received the CECs and someone else can benefit I would love to be able to pass along the CEC opportunity to them. Thanks again Paul!
If your purchase agreement says you have the right to do that, then by all means, go for it. But if it says otherwise (which I bet it does) then no – you shouldn’t pass it along. The person(s) who created the product should be compensated for each program or unit they sell. It’s the same as people downloading cd’s & books for free – if you were the artist or author, I’m sure you wouldn’t be too happy about that. But it happens all the time these days & it shouldn’t – it’s killing the music industry. I certainly don’t mean to pick on you Mary – you’re just asking a simple question. But if it was your product that you created, I’m betting that you wouldn’t want people passing it along to other people without getting compensated. Check your agreement – I’m sure you’ll do the right thing!
