Can any Female Fitness Enthusiast tell me if they would join a
“Up-Scale, State-of-the-art” all Women’s Fitness Center, (opposed to a mixed gender facility, and PLEASE GIVE REASONS YOU PREFER A WOMEN’S ONLY FACILITY, OVER MIXED GENDER FACILITIES) complete with Smoothie Bar, Retail Sales of top Brand Women’s Fitness attire, Country Club Style Fashioned Locker Room, The best of the best exercise equipment, Personal Trainers, and the best line of Cardiovascular Equipment?
I have no problem with women only/men only workout facilities. This is on of the times where gender equality doesn’t need to be an issue. Some people don’t like to work out around anyone else or are more comfortable with not being around the opposite sex when exercising. This is a different issue than equality or discrimination. I personally don’t care who is in the gym or if they are watching me (not that I think they are). But I understand others preferring to work out without that as a possible distraction.
Did you end up opening such a facility?
There might be legal issues in individual states. In Oregon, there was a big brouhaha about mens-only and womens-only clubs, so one of the clubs where I worked had to change its womens-only area to women preferred, and add separate access doors so that men could enter (previous entrances were through the women’s locker rooms.
I believe that women’s only gym is a better choice because the trainers, equipment and exercise programs are all designed by keeping the requirements & body structure of women into consideration. So I think, if possible one must consider women only gym.
