First of all, let me just say that I LOVE my Bodyblades! I have 9 of them (all sizes but mostly Classic and Pro) and use them in my small group and circuit classes for upper body and core.
Has anyone used the “Toner Bar?” At first blush, it appears to be a cheaply-made knock-off. However, I read through the Amazon reviews and there were a few that distinguish the Bodyblade from the Toner Bar, saying that the TB moves at a higher frequency and is thus more challenging, more anaerobic, less cardio.
I’m just wondering if any of my fellow trainers has used the Total Bar and the Bodyblade and can compare them for me.
I have people of all fitness levels in my classes, and even my fittest men will fatigue on the Pro. But if the Total Bar is really a progression of the Bodyblade, it might be worth having one or two around for them to grow into.
Interestingly enough, a lot of instability products are hitting the market this year. I recently bought a few Activemotion bars and there are also little things that plug onto the ends of Olympic bars to challenge stability.
Creating instability with traditional weight training tools seems to be the “in” thing lately. Or one of the “in” things.
I looked into this product and it’s actually called the “Total Bar”. The Total Bar doesn’t compare to the Bodyblade. The product is too light, goes in circles and is difficult to control. It does not give you the benefits of proprioceptor training that Bodyblade does. I read the personal trainers review on Amazon which was incorrect and inaccurate. Hope this helps!
