If you are going to take a probiotic supplement, some things to consider are the number of different species / strains of bacteria, as well as the total number of organisms in each dose. I’m not a nutritionist, so I am not providing you with a specific recommendation; my doctor’s recommendation for me was at least 10 different strains0 and 15 million organisms per dose.
I still think when it comes to probiotics it’s best to get from food sources. I tend to prefer yogurt to get that good healthy bacteria.

The next step is to get these good bacteria through whole foods. If you need more information, you may want to speak with your registered dietitian and doctor for personalized instructions. The pre- and pro- biotics work in unison to keep the bacteria working properly in your intestines so everything moves along well and lets your body absorb important nutrients without feeling uncomfortable with gas and bloat.
