Best free or low cost method to get clients?
Hey Shawn!
I don’t know anything about Wichita, KS, however, in NYC IDEA Fitness Connect has been very helpful with me getting new clients. if you haven’t filled out your profile completely, I would really suggest filling it out in its entirety. Sixteen million people who visit this site is nothing to sneeze at and it is free.
I would really, really encourage you to take advantage of this portal. It’s worth it.
Networking through online (Social Media/Website) seems to be the best resource for picking up clients. Id suggest integrating Facebook Fan Page for your training, Twitter, and as well as website might be beneficial. Goal is to get a large group following and constantly updating them on client progress, new specials, etc.

Participate in local company health fairs. As a fitness professional participating in these fairs you have a great opportunity to present your services, engage potential clients in conversation, offer a free service (such as body fat analysis), and build some relationships. I’ve participated in a number of health fairs, and even if I walk away from one without obtaining any immediate clients, I have opened doors to possibilities of getting new clients.

I agree that IDEA Fitness connect has been a great way to get inquiries from new clients. I also periodically do free fitness talks at the club where I work and write a fitness tip each month for their newsletter. I include a short bio at the end, and find that those two things help to highlight my expertise and interest in helping people get moving.
