Obviously, you have already noticed that there are enough fitness books out there, some generic, others highly specialized. A lot of those books are also hyping one way of doing things at the expense of balances and safety.
I would suggest to read a book like the ACE Personal Trainer Manual which you can purchase from a source like Amazon http://www.amazon.com/ACE-Personal-Trainer-Manual-Professionals/dp/18907…. Those manuals are not page-turners but they provide you with excellent advice while giving good rationale.
