Best Fitness Book
Hi guys, this is actually quite an interesting topic, and in such cases, I always use one educational platform thanks to which I can find any information, such as romanticism in the scarlet letter, or much more. They also do excellent reviews on books and related materials. Perhaps this will be useful to you.
Hi Martina,
you leave the question very open because you did not specify the sort of beginner you have in mind. Since you are here at the IDEA web site, I assume that you are more than a lay person looking for exercise advice.
Obviously, you have already noticed that there are enough fitness books out there, some generic, others highly specialized. A lot of those books are also hyping one way of doing things at the expense of balances and safety.
I would suggest to read a book like the ACE Personal Trainer Manual which you can purchase from a source like Amazon http://www.amazon.com/ACE-Personal-Trainer-Manual-Professionals/dp/18907…. Those manuals are not page-turners but they provide you with excellent advice while giving good rationale.
Hope this helps.

Hello Martina,
“Best” is personal preference however, you can try AFAA’s website for “fitness” books and materials.
I Hope This Helps!
Michael
Hey Martina,
Two books I would recommend, whether you are a trainer or a fitness enthusiast:
Advances in Functional Training, By Michael Boyle
This is a great book which covers a wide variety of exercises and training concepts.
Starting Strength, by Mark Ripptoe
Awesome book. He goes in depth on the Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press, Overhead Press and others. How to perform these exercises safely and even how to coach them.
Hope this is helpful!
