What are your favorite cardiovascular workouts for at home exercise? I won’t see my girlfriend for 1 1/2 months and she needs some workouts to maintain her progress. Indoor workouts are a must because she lives in Iowa and winter is here! She will also be doing some basic movement training with light loads once or twice a week(squat, lunge, push,pull,rotation, balance). She has been training for 6 weeks @ 2 sessions per week. I want something fun or simple that will get her heart rate up. Can you think of anything other than walking and dancing? Thank you for your thoughts.
If you have no equipment at your place you can try a combination of burpees/jump squats/pushups/mountain climbers (use sliders or just wear your socks if you have hardwood floors), will do the trick. You can do as many repetitions as you like and in any order. You can use little or no rest between the exercises or you can do as many rounds as you can for 10-20 minutes.
I am doing Turbo Fire right now and I love it! It has HIIT workouts incorporated into the program. If she’s not up for HIIT, then Turbo Jam, is a good alternative. http://baltimorefitnessandweightloss.com
