As trainers, how do you stay motivated?
I have recently started exercising and my trainer has helped me a lot now its turn, you can motivate yourself by reading motivational quotes at https://mostbeautifulquotes.com/motivational-quotes/funny-inspirational-…
I used to believe that I could fake self motivation and it would end up being motivation. But then I realized that I wasn’t faking it, I was creating it. I put a smile on my face even when I am tired or stressed because I know the simple act of smiling can start a chain reaction of improving my energy, mood, and outlook. I start the chain of events that will lead to me keeping my schedule moving. And I schedule everything that has to happen in my day. I do have days for not having a schedule as well.
I have my support group – my friends are instructors as well and we get together all the time, to train together, challenge each other, motivate each other, talk, complain, learn, share… They help me stay motivated.
I’ve also noticed that as long as you keep learning something new, motivation is not a problem, whatever that may be, courses, things I learn from my support group, going off for training sessions, conventions, it may cost money of course, but in the long run it’s much better than running out of motivation and information and feeling stuck. There’s is ALWAYS something really interesting out there, there’s always more to learn.
One more thing that actually comes with learning is being creative. Coming up with new ideas, new routines, new music ideas, new takes on some old exercises, new warm-ups, new stretches, novelty is always fun right? Developing your creative streak will help you come up with fresh and new choices and ideas, which usually bring motivation to try them out. This is how people come up with new exercise programs.
Practice what you preach. A trite expression, but I think that if you engage in the fitness lifestyle that you suggest for your clients, it will enable you to stay motivated to share your recommendations with your clients. All great answers. Staying motivated all the time is perhaps unreasonable. Staying motivated most of the time is certainly attainable.
Take care.
