are there any courses in motor skills learning?
Are you asking whether on the IDEA site any of the online CECs or CEUs cover that topic? Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be possible to search through the available CECs with a specific term, but only through certain categories they provide. I suspect if you try the topic “sports conditioning” you will be likely to find some things that will apply, as the topic lends itself to an interest in motor skill science and development.
If you are looking for general courses on this topic, aside from just googling it (I feel silly even saying that) you could look at professional sites for Occupational Therapists (more for the fine motor stuff) or Physical therapists (more for the gross motor stuff)
You might also take a look at some of the research being done on children and yoga. There is a lot of interest in the development of motor skills through yoga.
btw I just bought the book ‘Touch’ by David Linden, which I am hoping will be a good read on current brain science and the sense of touch. Not exactly what you are asking, but from looking at your background but I thought you might find it interesting.
good luck
There are a number of “motor skills” related courses and CEC videos out there and on IDEA Fit TV. But they are more specifically labeled like “speed, agility, quickness” or something similar relating to specific training adaptations. You should be able to search on a broader scale using google or yahoo for “motor skill training” to find programs as well.
I research and take courses that interest me whether the course will result in accepted “CECs” or not. But if the CECs are important to you, make sure they will be acceptable before you take the course.
