In the area I live, there are a few upscale housing complexes who have their own gym. I’m thinking of inquiring on adding a Personal Training program to the services they offer; with doing so, do you think the complex shoud receive a fee if I were to offer personal training services? Does anyone have a similar proposal to share or similar helpful information?
It’s a great idea, but maybe more on the downlow, if you know what i mean. If they approach you, then have a proposal ready and a list of residents, currrently using your services, to help persuade management. If they get involved, they may have a lis tof unreasonable conditions that may make it not worth your while.
I did this once when I lived in Woodstock Georgia… kind of. I didn’t become part of the services they offered (though that too was my initial intent) but rather, was able to train my clientele that lived in the complex, at the complex’s gym. There were legal waivers, insurance, and credentials that had to be agreed upon but they never asked for anything in return. I picked up a few clients while working with others and, well, it was great. If they ask you for a fee, it will probably be monthly as those gyms aren’t monitored so they would never know when you are working. It was a wonderful experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
