In the area I live, there are a few upscale housing complexes who have their own gym. I’m thinking of inquiring on adding a Personal Training program to the services they offer; with doing so, do you think the complex shoud receive a fee if I were to offer personal training services? Does anyone have a similar proposal to share or similar helpful information?
Hi Louis. I say “go for it!” I’ve provided this type of training service to a few large communities before. It’s a great way to increase your visibility and your income. Each “deal” or arrangement is different. Some management offices ask for a percentage of what you bring in, but in my experience that is very rare. If you are proactive and address EXACTLY how you propose this arrangement will work, in the proposal that you give them, more often than not management will go with it. Since everything in your proposal is subject to “negotiation,” then I say start with exactly what YOU want. Then let them counter if they want more.
