The corporation I work for is looking to renovate/expand our current onsite fitness center and I’m building a case for this to present to the executive team. I’m wondering if there are any studies or other companies that have made significant changes to their gyms and saw an increase in utilization and membership?
I am a consultant for a small onsite corporate fitness facility.
I have not seen any studies and am not sure how this could be measured because it would be on ‘good intentions’ (and we all know where those go). It certainly would be useful if you had any data on current use. The facility I am a consultant for has added some equipment over the years based on surveys of current utilization and on user feedback.
Regardless if the business is a fitness club or another type of service business, one must also look at many factors like: managenment, location, competition, pricing structure, clent base, cleanliness, hours of operation and reputation just to name a few.
If you ‘build it” they might not always come.
Renovate/Expand…face lift/more square feet?
Why does your employer feel the need to renovate/expand?
Return on Investment?
Did they show a Business Plan?
