Do you think this incentive can actually change human habits/behavior toward exercise?
Hi Curtis. Personally, I find that ‘negative reinforcement’ rarely works (at least in the long-term). Also, since all that it seems this requires is “going” to the gym, but not actually using it, believe it or not there will probably be some who will go there simply to avoid the penalty, or go there but only do a very basic exercise. There is no real gauge of how much the person actually workouts out, simply that they’ve spent time at the gym (at least that’s the way that I understand this concept).
