Any suggestions for where to hold a winter Boot Camp?
You can go to either one of two extremes in my opinion… Fort Carson Colorado, or Parris Island in South Carolina. Unless you’re military, it would be impractical to go ON the bases, and even then I doubt that you would be allowed to do a class there, but the surrounding towns are all conducive to the boot camp experience. These locations would allow you to get “close to the action” while being able to enjoy the scenery. Both locations would provide benefits considering the nature of boot camp classes. Depends on how COLD you want it =)
I answered this with assuming anywhere in the U.S. was feasible =)
I actually read your question a bit differently than Marlan 🙂
Perhaps you are doing your Boot Camp outdoors in the Spring-Autumn months and are looking to continue on into the cooler winter temps.
You may look into moving your boot camps indoors by looking to rent space for say the 3-4 months of winter.
I teach at a martial arts school and do a Sat. morning boot camp. The owner was approached by another outside boot camp instructor who asked whether he could use the school on Sunday mornings.
I have a year round bootcamp in Northern California and so far we have been outdoors for 14 months, rain or shine! Sometimes it’s a challenge but we manage by finding shelter such as an overhang on a building or we use parks with cabanas.
However,if I had to go in I would look into a Senior Center, Youth Center, Dance Center to rent.
I must add the I find working out in the cold air is exhilirating!
