Any recommendations for a pregnant client on total bed rest for 6 months due to a weak cervix? No ab/work and legs are raised.
What has her doctor recommended?
If she is at this much risk with her pregnancy that she is on bed rest and elevated, this might not be the time to pursue a fitness regimen.
My suggestion would be breathing, meditation, pelvic floor strengthening. Maybe some light arm work, but if she’s only got 15 minutes “up,” she might want that time for household activities.
Hi Batya,
The only recommendations I would give her are good movies to watch. It’s not worth the risk – that’s one heck of a restriction. Hopefully she gets through this just fine & then you ease her back into things when she’s ready. I wish her the best – good luck Batya.

Hi Batya,
in a situation like this, you need to get a physician’s approval for anything that you could do as a personal trainers. I would be surprised if you got an okay from the doctor, considering how risky a pregnancy it is.
Also keep in mind that this pregnancy may not go to term or end in a miscarriage, even if all the restrictions are religiously adhered to. Do you really want to wonder for the rest of your life whether anything that you have recommended may have contributed to it?
