I have the chance to work with an adult male client that has cerebral palsy. My trainer has received several requests from this man asking to start training with her, bur she does not have room in her schedule to take him on as a regular client. She gave him my contact information and he has reached out to me to help get him started.
This will be the first client I have worked with that has major medical condition. I am wondering if anyone has any advice they can offer about working with cerebral palsy clients? I have been a personal trainer for a just over a year and am a little nervous to take this on, but I want to help him improve his quality of life.
As a personal trainer can I work with a client that has something like cerebral palsy? Is there extra insurance or certifications I should have before doing so? Any advice you can offer would be helpful!!
