"I have known Cindy about 1 1/2 years. As a person Cindy has a way of making you challenge yourself physically and emotionally. I now have done 3 1/2 marathons since Oct.2009 and I am still wanting to do more. I had not ran for 10 years-because of Cindy I have gotten out of my comfort zone and loving it. "I began training with Fitness at the Core in the summer of 2009. I saw that a running group was starting with an ultimate goal of completing the Long Beach half marathon in October. Although I was in pretty good shape, I had never run a day in my life, I was the girl who would walk the moment the PE teacher turned their back, but I had always wanted to try running and I thought that working with a group, like Fitness at the Core, would be a great way to start. I had no idea what I was in for, as it turns out running is different than any other workout I had tried. I had to learn how to run and if I had been forced to do it alone, I would have given up the first week. Cindy was awesome, she was so supportive and attentive she made sure that I went slowly and gave me realistic, attainable goals which made me feel successful every time I went out. Not only did I complete the Long Beach half but I went on to run the Surf City half, the Seal Beach 10k, and the San Francisco half. Thanks to Cindy and Fitness at the Core I have a new hobby. I love to run it's a great way to clear your mind and appreciate nature running has become a regular part of my life and I am very thankful for that."
