Taking Control of My Health

Jennifer's Success Story

I was very slim for the majority of my life without any effort. My life changed in March 2012 when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Pernicious Anemia/B12 Deficiency. At 43 years old, married and with a 5 year old son, I had the feeling that with each passing birthday, it was going to be harder to turn my physical self around. I was motivated to learn how to get fit and combat it.

With the help of an amazing personal trainer, I was able to not only lose weight and lose fat, but gain muscle and improve my attitude – all in just 90 days! He encouraged me to think outside my comfort zone, to set goals and to realize that success doesn’t necessarily mean a decreasing number on the scale. I learned that it was not about being accountable to the trainer, but rather to myself. He inspired me to make fitness an integral part of my life. I am leaner and lighter with more energy and confidence. Choosing clothing now comes with ease!

I recently ran a 5k charity run. I would have *never* had the confidence to do that before! Don’t be afraid to try. I did not think I was capable nor the “training kind”. Your greatest
obstacle is really in your mind, that’s the greatest barrier—from ‘I can’t do it’ to ‘yes, I can!’“ and now, I am!"
