Where to begin? Every day is a beginning. To wake up each day and decide that you will either start the process or if you've started that you will continue on the path of reaching and/or maintaining your goals. I've reached 1 year of clean eating (July2011-2012) and being very consistent in the gym. This is a milestone for me and it feels amazing! I don't want to "sugar coat" it. Ha ha not that I've had much sugar lately! It's a battle to balance work, fitness, social life, and food preparation. The hardest for me even today is food prep; however, The Fitanista taught me food prep techniques that cut preparation time in half and now I've got a pretty good system. I’m prepared and not cooking full meals every night.
One of the other major things I've adapted to is social activities and figuring out how to stay away from the ugly foods and stay healthy. I have to prep and decide what to eat, calculate timing for meals, and plan accordingly. I also try to have a meal or a lean protein shake packed. Planning IS the battle, however one worth winning for YOU. I look back 12 months and think about all the bad stuff I shoved down my throat and not paying attention to fat, calories and balanced meals. I never considered myself overweight but when I see a before picture I believe I was headed down an obese road. Who knew I was a chunky size 8 with no muscle? I didn't. Now, a lean 6 looks like a 4. Thanks Angela! You inspired me to be the best ME I can be today. I surprise myself in every meal plan I get through and every workout! I ran my first 5k in less than 27 minutes! Being physically fit really helps balancing life stresses as well and the energy is phenomenal! You can decide today to let your journey begin. I have no regrets, even the struggles.
