Amanda's Success Story
I still remember the day I tried desperatly to squeeze into my size 8 American Eagle skinny jeans aka My UGG boot jeans. I was the heaviest I've ever been weighing at 165 pounds. My size 8 pants that fit 6 months ago could barely make it past my thighs.....they didn't even make it to my waist. That was the day that motivated me to make some serious lifestyle changes.
I started to work out at Planet Fitness about 5-6 times a week mostly just cardio. I couldn't even run a full mile on the treadmill so I would always try mixing things up on the cardio machines. When I started to build up endurance and stamina, I started going to BodyWorks, the military base gym. I started to try the classes they offered and found out how much I LOVED spin class. I used to HATE the stationary bikes at the gym but the spin bikes were different plus the class was so much fun!! I also did kickboxing, turbokick, kettlebells, step aerobic, circuit classes, and Zumba. All the classes were amazing and I attend them all.
Now I'm a size 4 and have lost a total of 25 pounds. I love the way I look and feel. I'm currantly training to run my first half marathon and I'm hoping to be certified as an ACE personal trainer by September. I'm also going for my spin certification in November. :) I really want to help people lose weight and motivate them to workout. If I can do it, anyone can.
I think I owe a lot of my success to my instructors. They are the ones who make working out fun and challenging. I want to thank Julie, Penny, Shannon, and most importantly Steve, who is ALWAYS pushing me to go that extra step, for my success. THANK YOU!!!!! <3
