's Success Story

It's been a whirlwind life since I decided to join Zumba Fitness, LLC as an instructor. After a year and a half of unwavering enthusiasm with being a student of Zumba® and trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life after a long career as an industrial designer, I made the decision to become a Zumba® teacher. After becoming licensed in Zumba®, Zumba Gold® and Aqua Zumba®, I decided to specialize in water-based exercise.

I work as an independent personal trainer offering fitness programs to 55+ women supporting bones, joints, heart, brain and healthy weight managment.

Aqua Zumba®, the first branded aquatic fitness program to come to the pool environment, is an invigorating, community-oriented dance-fitness class that feels fresh, and most of all, exhilarating! Aqua Zumba® classes provide rigorous, low-impact moves for all levels of adults. The beneits of Aqua exercise, which includes Aqua Zumba® are improved strength and cardiorespiratory condition without the drawbacks of injury to joints that may occur in land-based exercise classes.

My focus in group fitness instruction also includes Aqua fitness. Aqua fitness is a more traditional approach to working out in the water and today's Aqua fitness is a challenging workout for all populations, incorporating strength training, core development and aerobic/cardiovascular components. It is taught, sometimes strictly in shallow water as well as using deep water when available. It also employs resistance equipment such as aquatic weights.

So, In May, 2014, I took my first Zumba training and became licensed to teach Basic Zumba. In June, 2014, I trained and became licensed to teach Zumba Gold®.Additionally, I am certified as a group fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise (ACE), as well as an aquatics instructor with the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA).
