My Post Retirement Career

's Success Story

It's been a whirlwind life since I decided to join Zumba Fitness, LLC as an instructor. After a year and a half of unwavering enthusiasm for being a student of Zumba and trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life after retirement, I made the decision to become a Zumba teacher. Additionally, I decided, based on my interests, to specialize in teaching Zumba Gold.
Zumba Gold® is a low-impact workout that lets you move to the beat at your own speed. It's an invigorating, community-oriented dance-fitness class that feels fresh, and most of all, exhilarating! Zumba Gold® classes provide modified, low-impact moves for active older adults.

As a senior myself, I decided I would be successful by offering an appropriate fitness journey to others in my generation because I understand what we want. With Zumba Gold, I use diverse, music-based movements including merengue, salsa, mambo, flamenco and even hip-hop that I adapt especially for us.

In this country, 70 million people will be over the age of 65, like me, by the year 2040 - and a perfect fit for a Zumba Gold class! I hope to be teaching and helping people enjoy their health, for many years.

So, In May, 2014, I took my first Zumba training and became licensed to teach Basic Zumba. In June, 2014, I trained and became licensed to teach Zumba Gold®.Additionally, I'm studying for certification as a group fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise (ACE), as well as the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).
