I can’t remember the last time I was able to look in the mirror and feel happy about my body. I can’t remember the last time I was able to wear the same clothing as my friends. I can barely remember a time when I wasn’t embarrassed to eat with my family. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t struggle with my weight.
I first met Liz at Bally Total Fitness in 2008. I was offered a free personal training session with my membership. I remember Liz coming into schedule my appointment. I was excited, nervous and terrified at the same time. After our first session, Liz had my attention. She took the time to speak to me about health and nutrition. She made it seems so easy; possible to actually live a healthy lifestyle.
I began training with Liz in May 2008 three times a week. She met me at the gym at 6am, ready to kick some butt. At first, I didn’t think I was going to survive these workouts. She’s hard! I became scared of her! She only looked sweet, but when it came to the workouts, she was all business. Granted we laughed, joked around and actually made fun out of every hour. After a month, I began looking forward to our workouts! She challenged me, changed up my program including additional cardio activities. Not only did she mean business when it came down to the workouts, Liz was also very strict when it came to the food I consumed. She taught me how to journal my food properly which allowed me to become more aware of what and when I was easting.
After three months of hard word and dedication, I lost a total of 15lbs and 12 inches. I dropped three sizes! My feet even gotten smaller! I started to smile, shine and believe in myself. I couldn’t have done any of this without Liz. She was my rock and strength though this whole process. After a year of training with Liz, I’m a size 8, that’s five dress sizes smaller than I was a year ago! I have found a love and passion for rock climbing, running and biking. I never thought I would be able to do any of these things! I can wear cute clothes, feel good about myself and promise to always live this healthy lifestyle.
Liz and I currently train two times a week to keep up with my weight-loss and maintain a healthy body. I respect, love and appreciate Liz for being an inspirational personal trainer, mentor and friend. I can not thank you enough.
