I am pleased that I decided to take advantage of your fitness and exercise program. I have lost 12 pounds and have tightened my belt 2 holes! But, more importantly, my diabetes and psoriasis seem to be under much better control.
As you are aware, I am an insulin dependent diabetic and take glucometer readings at least 3 times a day. Since walking on the treadmill 3 to 5 times a week, as well as working out on some other equipment, my general health has improved to the point where I have been able to decrease my insulin dosage as I am consistently experiecncing more normal glucometer readings.
Several weeks ago, I went for my annual physical. Both my primary care physician and my diabetic specialist wanted to know what I, as a 76 year old, was doing differently these days. Not only was my actual physical prognosis "Excellent", all of my bloodwork appeared relatively "NORMAL". For instance, my A1C for diabetics was recorded at 6.5, under 7, is about as normal as you can get. And, this 6.5 reading occurred for the first time in over seven years. When I told the doctors that I am "working out" at my local gym, they too, attribute my improved state of health to exercise. Both advised me to keep it up.
The other day I was wondering why more seniors don't take advantage of Commitment Fitness. From my standpoint, as a retired senior, it helps me keep active and healthy at my own pace. Plus, I can adjust my schedule to attend when the gym isn't too crowded. Then I have access to practically whatever exercise equipment I choose. This approach works very well for me and I am sure it would appeal to other seniors.
Again, many thanks to you and your staff for providing the opportunity to participate at Commitment Fitness. My hope is to continue for years.
