I was skeptical about using a personal trainer, but Yasha proved my skepticism unfounded. For some reason I couldn't make a commitment to myself to train, but I could to Yasha. He got me on a regular schedule and results were immediate. His relaxing demeanor is very enjoyable during workouts, and yet he never lets you quit, or continue to elevate your workouts. Thank you Yasha for making a world of difference for me.

I trained with Yasha in Los Angeles and it was a wonderful experience. He constructed a great assessment based on what my goals were when we started and was able to create a set of work out routines that were interesting and varied. I always enjoyed his company and energy.

I cannot tell you all the benefits from training and working out. When I started, I was skeptical, though I was really at my wits end with my health. I had been doctoring with several physicians for chronic pain in my body.... even had a couple suggest maybe fibromyalgia was the culprit, was on 900 mg of neurontin for pain in my legs each day, on a pretty strong dose of thyroid medication and fighting a weight problem for years with no results, experienced several falls, and felt like I was on a downward spiral towards old age. The straw that broke the camel's back was using a walker to get off the bed after having a scope done on my hip. This at 55 years old!

When my boss offered training sessions with a trainer as part of our employee benefits, it was a quick decision, because I knew if I thought about it, I would chicken out. I thought if nothing else, maybe I could lose a few pounds and just get the trainer to show me how to use the exercise equipment in the basement of our workplace so I could try on my own and not hurt myself.

I believe we started in the fall of 2008. I simply cannot believe that I am still working out almost 2 years later. I could say I am too stubborn to quit, but I know I haven't because #1 I have just had too many benefits to give it up as long as it is offered to me. Not saying that there are times I cannot force myself to do it, but it is something I need to do and I know it. I am now taking neurontin only every other day and I am taking 300 mg, not 900. I take tylenol in between and that takes care of any chronic?? pain All I know is I don't consider the pain I have now to be chronic pain and most days the only soreness is a tired soreness from sore muscles that are getting stronger! I don't think about pain every day anymore and I know I used to rate my pain on a 7 when they would ask at the dr office and now I can say I don't have pain or maybe a 2. Quite a difference. My thyroid medication is being lowered. After being on a 200 mg dose, I am down to 135mg at this point. I am taking blood pressure medicine, but can't imagine what it would be if I hadn't lost 30 lbs and kept it off like I have for over a year! Losing the weight was still a challenge, I had to learn to eat better, and not think of dieting and move my body, even though I thought it might hurt too much to do it.

I have to tell you Yasha, that I didn't even level with you about the chronic pain problems I was experiencing because it was too embarrassing to admit that at 55, I had really let myself get to that point and I truly was feeling every bit of that pain, but didn't know how to get away from it. I did know that seeing all those doctors wasn't doing me much good. The visits that I make to my doctor now are wellness checkups, not the various visits for pains and aches that no doctor could seem to fix.

I feel so much better. There is no comparison to what I was feeling before. I told my husband not long ago, I don't EVER want to feel that bad again. I am enjoying life and I don't feel like life has nothing but pain for me anymore. I feel stronger, more confident in my movements and ready to take on each day and not like "an old lady". The weight loss has been a big benefit, but I really don't even worry that much about it anymore. That isn't the focus and since it isn't, food and feeling bad aren't the focus. Feeling healthy and feeling good are!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your encouragement and motivation on the days that I need it!!

Since being coached by Yasha for approximately 6 months, 2 times a week for an hour, I feel more in control of my body.  All parts of my body have become stronger, so much so that I, a 5 ft tall grandmother, was able to carry my 25 pound granddaughter from the beach to the car on a recent vacation.  I would not have been able to do that 6 months earlier.   I have not lost any weight, but everything is firmer and my outlook on life is more positive.   Love those stretches!!
