Answered by Stephen Landrum on Aug 16, 2012

I rarely take in a meal without including some form of protein unless it is during vigorous activity like a 10+ mile run. During recovery, protein is never overlooked but neither are carbohydrates. A better suggestion is to research which ratio of these macronutrients is best for recovering from the...

I volunteer advice and demonstration to those who ask almost everyday. I also hold group exercise sessions in my neighborhood when I can. I would like to do more once I'm out of school and will have more spare time.

I chose the Jungle Gym XT over the TRX because of its extended variety. Its made of 2 separate straps so you can have them as wide or narrow as you'd like. The TRX only gave the narrow option and that just wasn't good enough for my clientele. Now there isn't many exercises that can't be performed by...

Lately, gyms have been opening up that have a license to serve alcohol?

WOW!!! Really!! I had never heard of this. Seems counter-productive to me. Alcohol is certainly not what you need right after exercise. I'll never offer or suggest such a thing. I'm not against libations but there is a time and a place for it. A gym session is neither.

How to handle a client who thinks they know more than you?

As neither one of us are nutritionists or dietitians, all we can do is RECOMMEND a caloric intake for someone to follow. However, it is entirely up to them what they choose to eat.
