Even as a child, I have loved physical activity. I was involved in any
and all aspects of sports. It seemed natural that I chose a career that
allowed me to be outside and very physically active. I began in
construction and carpentry.
However, my love for cooking drove me to change careers and pursue
my own catering business. As my business flourished, so did my
waistline. I found out very soon that my lack of physical activity was
catching up with me and taking over. I started gaining weight. I began
dealing with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, both of these
conditions had to be doctor monitored and medicated.
It was at this point, that I decided to make a lifestyle change along with
seeking alternatives to taking medication through proper nutrition and
I began researching human biology, nutrition and sports physiology
and decided to focus on Functional Training along with other programs
designed to benefit overall health and fitness, which includes Kettlebells
and body weight training.
I found my true passion and have since immersed myself in learning
and teaching others about proper fitness, nutrition and training. In
essence, achieving Optimal Fitness.
