I have an overweight female client who is not coordinated at all (!) and just starting out. Suggestions?

Best to stick with strength machines for the first month, build up a base. Gradually introduce free weights. Work with the stability ball, which forces the body to contract and tighten all major muscles, great for balance and coordination. Good luck :)

Depending on the individuals limitations, I find that working full body 2 to 3 times per week is helpful in increasing overall strength Using Higher rep range, 1 to 3 sets. Also working in cardio intervals. With some stretching and balance exercises. Limit workouts to 1 hour.

Morning workouts are the best, you are well rested. You will have a much more effective workout. Working out first thing sets you up for your day. It is more challenging dragging yourself to the gym after a long day at work.

If there is a fever, you should stay at home and rest. You should out rule an infection you don't want to spread the germs throughout the gym. If no fever present and you feel well enough then workout. As always know your limitations, and listen to your body.
