I hold personal trainer certifications with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American Council on Exercise, am a Certified Health Coach (ACE), and certified as a Specialist in Performance Nutrition by the International Sports Sciences. I am a member of these organizations, as well as the American College of Sports Medicine. I currently write on fitness, training and nutrition for print and online media outlets.
My passion for health and fitness has taken many forms over the years, from serving as a writer and editor for Muscle & Fitness and Muscle & Fitness HERS to training clients, teaching group fitness classes, teaching elementary school phys ed and coaching cross country and track. My love for being active has taken me on many outdoor adventures, including crossing the finish line of more than 75 marathons, ultras and triathlons, white-water rafting and running the Grand Canyon, snow skiing and kayaking.
I strive to create balance in my life, which means taking care of myself by eating a balanced diet, exercising and getting adequate rest, and doing what I love. I can help you make changes to improve your body composition, health, energy and more, starting with how you care for your most valuable asset: Your body!
