I started developing weight training programs in High School as the captain of my hockey team. I created an off season program for the team to follow and have been excited about training ever since. I continued training my friends in college and after I graduated, but just did it for fun and as more of their workout partner than a formal trainer. When I moved to Florida in 2005, I began working at LA Fitness as a Training Manager and received my Personal Trainer Certification through Expert Rating. Although I loved training and working in a gym, I felt there wasn't enough of an opportunity for advancement so I decided to go out on my own. I had a few great years and helped some amazing people reach their fitness goals. My training was sidetracked for a year while I focused on training myself to compete in kick boxing and muay thai. My first fight I won by unanimous decision, but my training was cut short when I fractured a knuckle in my right hand. It was a blessing and a curse. It ended my aspirations as a fighter, but it allowed me to refocus on what I enjoyed doing most, which is training others. I recently completed a second certification through the National Federation of Personal Trainers and am currently accepting new clients. My personal training philosophy is one of wholeness. I believe in order for you to reach peak well being you need to balance strength, cardio, flexibility, and nutrition. I help my clients reach their overall fitness goals by custom tailoring a program combining these aspects. Think of your health as a table. The legs of your table are strength training, cardio, flexibility, and nutrition. If one of these legs is ignored your table will fall. There is a difference between going to the gym and training. If you want to go to the gym, join one. If you want to train and reach your highest potential then call me @ 954-918-1189.
