This depends on your digestive system. Most of my clients have a banana one hour before they start working out. But I've had some clients digestive systems completely reject the banana idea. But try to have a light, small, healthy snack at least one hour before you start to allow for digestion.

It would be best to eat a pre workout snack about one hour before you start. Light Carb is appropriate. Also, You should eat protein after you workout... no more than an hour afterwards. Some post workout suggestions: protein smoothie, raw almonds, energy bar, quinoa salad, veggie burger patty.

Absolutely! Try to eat a light, healthy, carby snack. I would usually get my clients to have a banana one hour before they workout. Your body needs energy to work out. Also, you should eat a post workout snack as well. Protein is best!
