As a child I was a fierce competitor in sports and started studying dance at age 13. My interest in both continued through college and eventually developed into a fascination with weight training and aerobic movement through group fitness classes. After graduating and putting my college business degree to good use, I decided to make a career change and pursue work in the fitness field. I enrolled in a graduate program in cardiac rehab then moved to an emphasis in kinesiology and exercise science. Since completing my degree 20+ years ago, I have never looked back. My fitness practice has been a joy and a never ending cycle of learning. I started in group fitness then added fitness trainer, educator and consultant to my resume. I see clients of all ages and fitness levels and enjoy the challenge of designing customized programs to fit clients' life style and goals. My work includes working with highly fit clients preparing for adventure travel, sports-specific training, joint replacement, chronic or intermittent back, knee and other joint pain, senior-seniors, obesity, pre-post-natal clients, de-conditioned clients and those challenged cancer, Parkinson's and MS. I have studied Pilates since 1998 and consistently incorporate postural cues and core activation from the Pilates method into all client workouts. I am a proponent of coordinated wellness care through communications with physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors and massage therapists caring for my clients. I believe each fitness session is an opportunity to make a difference in a client's quality of life.
