I am completing my doctorate in Occupational Therapy, and have a deep interest of physical rehabilitation & the impact of mental health on weight. I specialize in Women's Private and Semi-Private fitness and yoga instruction. I keep my client base small so that I can really individualize the experience of each person. I have worked with clients to complete their first sprint triathalon, develop a yoga/meditation practice, rehab from a shoulder surgery, combat chronic pain due to old injury, and improve balance & body composition. Recently, I have been focusing on the exercise experience of those living with physical disabilities, and my client base includes people who are post-stroke and living with chronic illness. I am also a level 1 certified fascial stretch therapist.

I am a Business Development Consultant at Fit Body Boot Camp Anchorage. Our Unstoppable Fitness Formula workouts are designed to shed your unwanted weight in the shortest time possible with Anchorage's only fitness training program guaranteed to give you maximum results under the supervision of enthusiastic fitness instructors.

I met Marisa a year ago, after an injury I received while hiking. I didn’t want to have surgery & knew there had to be a way to recover without a hefty medical bill. After an online search I found Marisa. I wanted to find a personal trainer that was geared more towards recovery, balance training, building strength, muscle & endurance. I am a fitness nut. I love the great outdoors, but I am a klutz. I know a lot about cardio, but lack the knowledge concerning proper weight training or balance training for that matter. I am stronger now than I ever was before my injury. It took me almost a year to recover. This is the best my knee has felt in a long time. I still see Marisa on a weekly basis. I suppose I don’t need a trainer anymore for my knee, but I love to pick at the knowledge she has & while we work hard, she makes it fun. Come January, I’m going to switch from strength training to learning how to swim. She knows I’m an activities junky more than a gym junky & believes that swimming will provide a well rounded activity balance for me. Right now, I swim like a rock. Hopefully in a few months I’ll swim like Labrador, but realistically I’ll probably swim like a frog. ;)…. Marisa is personable, knowledgeable and likeable. I would recommend her to anyone, whether you are recovering from an injury or just want to learn new things. She is a great trainer and a good person and I am fortunate to have met her.
