I have been working with Mac for several months. Mac started with my core and built my strength from there. In the infancy of our relationship, there were exercises that Mac would have me do that I thought I would never be able to conquer. However, as time moved on and my strength continued to build, I now can do those exercises with much more confidence.

Mac is not a drill sergeant. Mac is a master of his art. He has the ability to get to know what your body needs and builds a custom program for the individual.

Patient, encouraging and non-judgmental is how I would describe Mac Dodds. I feel lucky to have met Mac.

Mac has improved my strength and overall health tremendously. I always shied away from personal training because I pictured a drill sergeant yelling at me to do 5 more reps. But Mac is mellow and patient and still gets great results. I’m 53 and went to Mac for lingering shoulder pain I was getting with my traditional weight lifting workout. He put together a circuit-training routine that eliminated the exercises stressing my shoulder but still allowed me to build upper body strength. The intensity of the full-body workout has also led to a trimmer waistline and stronger abs. Mac is a super trainer. A++

I work with Mac in two capacities:

First, Mac is my personal trainer. What's special about Mac's approach is that he doesn't come in and tell you exactly what you have to do to get where you want to go. He listens to you and to your body and responds with spot-on advice. Also, he's amazing at giving feedback on form. It's hard to cheat on this guy! He sees the subtle flaws in form and fixes them.

Second, Mac works as S&C coach to the Scotland national womens lacrosse team, of which I'm head coach. He has done a great job of coming up with programs to prepare our athletes to compete at the highest level, while at the same time being flexible to the demands of time and access to equipment that they face, many being full time employees or full time students. We especially appreciate his emphasis on injury-prevention during our long competition season.

Can't say enough about Mac, and recommend him highly to any individual or team looking for a training guru.

I have been working out with Mac for a little over a year now. I was always slow to embrace exercising. I was too shy to show up at a gym, but knew I needed to change my unhealthy lifestyle; thus, I moved forward to finding a personal trainer and was very fortunate enough to find Mac. Mac is a solid ten out of ten. Mac’s credentials with a Master’s degree in Physical Education speaks for itself, but what really makes Mac special is his high degree of care to my well-being. My goals are Mac’s goals. Mac is patient and a strong motivator. I could not ask for anything better.

I have been working with Mac for about 1 1/2 years. I'm 52 years old. Mac has helped me to become more fit, increase strength and muscle, and to reduce fat. He's a great motivator. I started working out with Mac once a week (for about a year) and now have added a second, half-hour session mid week to keep me on track. . . . I can even do pull-ups now (7 at once, or about 25-30 during a one hour session) for the first time in my life! . . .

Mac also has been training my stepson (now 19) since he was 15, and his body has been transformed from fat/pudgy to a fit/slim teenager.

In short, Mac's the best!

I have been working out with Mac for 2 months now. I was weak and now I am STRONG! If you aim to improve your body, Mac can help you figure out how. He is very good at keeping you focused on proper form to get the optimal benefit from each exercise. I highly recommend Mac!

Mac was my personal trainer a few months Mac. Not only was he attentive bit also patient with his approach. His initial assessment was on key and providede with a series of exercises which I still follow. Highly recommended.

Several weeks into working once a week w/ Mac, I feel like I've definitely picked the right trainer.
He communicates clearly and precisely: "Do it like this... Use these muscles... Drop your hips to make it harder..."
He's full of encouragement. This is very important because I need a lot.
He's flexible, whether it's about me needing to be out of town on session day, or whether it's about limitations resulting my disabilities. He's quick with an alternative so we can keep moving forward.

Several weeks in to working once a week w/ Mac, I appreciate these things:
1) Clear and precise instructions "Use these muscles, not so much those." "Bring your hips down like this to make it harder." and so on.
2) Encouragement He is full of praise when I do things well, which matters to me because I am just getting started.
3) Flexibility It's never a problem when I need to be out of town, or when I can't do a particular thing because of my disabilities. He can always quickly find an alternative.

My 17 year old son has been working with Mac for close to two years now. He initially saw Mac to help with his extremely painful osgood schlatter and plantar fasciitis. Since working with Mac he has been pain free and hasn't had any issues with those conditions, PLUS has gained strength and unbelievable flexibility. Besides being a great trainer, Mac has been an incredible mentor. Thank you Mac for all your hard work, it has really paid off.

Mac offers a new perspective in physical training. He really listens to your body's needs and respects the natural process of strength and flexibility. Attention to detail in form during every rep and keeping the work out fun and changing often is what I've enjoyed most in working with him.

I first got in contact with Mac a few years ago at the YMCA. I was getting bored with my workout routine and felt that as an emerging senior citizen I needed someone to help me focus more on balance, overall body strength and flexibility. Mac was just the right person to do that. He helped me develop an exercise routine that I've been able to maintain for several years now. It has made a big difference in how I feel and look. Late last fall I was diagnosed with cogenital stenosis in my neck. To deal with the symptoms and especially to avoid serious future problems I had major neck surgery, a procedure called laminoplasty. Six weeks after the surgery, I called on Mac to help me regain my neck and shoulder strength. He got me a regime of exercises specifically designed to help me on my way to a speedy recovery. Now about 3 months later and weekly sessions with Mac, I am virtually pain free, and perhaps have greater neck and shoulder mobility and strength than before the surgery. I mostly credit this to Mac's insight and knowledge of the best way to help me recover. He really knows his stuff! THANK YOU MAC!

Thank you Mac for the knowledge and fun that you have shared with me. The outdoor BootCamp class provides a fun environment and encourages me to push myself harder. Mac's approach is successful and designed for specific needs and incorporates every muscle group to provide for optimal achievement. The workouts are not physically easy, however, they are easy to enjoy! If you want results, confidence, and increased knowledge on nutrition and effective exercises, Mac is the one!

I have been working with Mac Dodds for severals years and he has helped me maintain my strength, fitness and good health. Mac has an excellent way of customizing a workout session to meet an individuals's needs. His instructions and demos are clear, he gives good cues for perfecting form, provides excellent tips for working through those trouble spots and is always encouraging. Mac is a professional, cares about those he works with, and is always a positive influence.

I have been working out with Mac for a few years now and he has really listened to me and my body. It has helped me stay injury free during our workouts. When I used to workout on my own, I always had a shoulder, or knee that would limit me. Mac always chooses exercises that don't hurt so I can still get the exercise I need. Thank you Mac!

Mac derives his knowledge from his vast and varied experiences that include training professional athletes. Mac's enthusiac personality is both motivating and uplifting. He has a way of teaching that makes learning fun and shows you that all of your goals are possible with the right attitude and proper technique. His attention to detail helps me know that I am performing the exercise correctly and this creates a confidence that makes me want to continue to get stronger and healthier. Mac has been very instrumental in keeping us working on strength and conditioning on a regular basis. His workouts are interesting, different and flexible, and have really helped us in core strength over the last year. The variety is most helpful to keep workouts interesting and chanllenging. Mac knows his stuff!

Mac has helped me create an exercise regime that helps keep me flexible and is building my strength . I have been able to return walking the Layfayette Reservoir. Mac is always postive and supportive, while at the same time pushing me that extra bit. This is the perspective of a 65 year old who wants to keep up with her two year old grandchild!

I have been on several different programs and what Mac does is knowing what you need and how to solve different problems. I will probably be in the best shape I have ever been, If Mac doesn't bury me first!!
His knowledge of the body and how to get results are amazing he always knows how to solve most of your problems.
(This is coming from a out of shape 73 yr. old !!)

I rate Mac #1 as a tranier and friend....
