Lisa Collins, CFT, is a 18-year veteran of the fitness industry and has recently relocated to the Richmond VA area. She is the Wellness Director at the John Rolfe YMCA and is the former owner of FIT221, Personal Training Studio and FitEvents, LLC located in Forest, VA. She began her fitness career in Atlanta, GA where she taught group fitness classes at various fitness centers. She is the former Assistant General Manager for Gold's Gym in North Roanoke VA. Lisa currently runs her own fitness continuing education company FitEvents, LLC, she also travels to numerous fitness tradeshows annually representing companies such as, Balletone®/SFResources, JumpSport® Fitness Trampolines, Perfect Pushup/BodyRev®, Gymstick®, and Boot Camp Challenge®.
Lisa holds certifications with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in Group Fitness Instruction, as well as, Personal Training. She is also certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in Group Fitness. Lisa’s specialty certifications include POUND, Keiser Cycle Power Pacing, Golf Conditioning Specialist, Yoga, Pilates, BODYPUMP®, BODYSTEP®. She is a ProTrainer for FiTOUR Inc, providing continuing education lectures and workshops to her peers. Lisa is a former Regional Trainer for the BODYPUMP program and was the first instructor in the U.S. to earn certification.
While living in Atlanta, Lisa worked for Body Training Systems as a Training Coordinator, and for Australian Body Works as the Group Fitness Director for 3 club locations, managing and training over 80 fitness instructors. She was named Australian Body Works “Instructor of the Year” in both 1993 & 1995.
She has made several appearances on the fitness TV show “Homestretch” and has appeared in several fitness videos and magazines. Lisa was also a cast member in the Closing Ceremonies of the Centennial Olympic Games in 1996.
In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her two Jack Russell Terriers “Crammer & Trixie”.
