I feel very strongly that exercise and proper nutrition are important for an active and healthy life.
After a back injury, I took my first strength-training class, and absolutely loved it! so much, that I wanted to share the benefits with others. So I continued my education and became a personal trainer. My favorite populations to work with are women and older adults, using combinations of free-weights, body weight, resist-a-ball, BOSU, pilates, & yoga. I also use the TRX Suspension system.

In my free time, I like to read, walk and garden.

    I've worked with Laura on and off for the past couple of years. I have found her to be well-informed on a wide variety of techniques for working different muscle groups. I've primarily worked with her on TRX, but also on the bosu and the gym. In addition she has counseled me on proper nutrition and better eating habits. It's been helpful to have someone push you but also understand your limits and accommodate special needs as they arise. She is a warm and sensitive person and we've had a comfortable working relationship which I plan on continuing. I would highly recommend her.

    Laura started guiding me in the gym about twelve years ago. With my family history of heart attacks I consider my time at the gym to be life insurance. Laura and I continued working together through my surgery for breast cancer. I attribute my quick recovery to the strength I developed in weight lifting. Weight lifting probably helped me increase my bone density even on medication which commonly is associated with a decrease in bone density. Laura has introduced me to the resist-a-ball and pilates reformer. She encourages me to increase my cardio exercise time and shows me stretches to improve my flexibility. I doubt that I will try the TRX but you never know! I am extra lucky that my trainer has also become my friend.
