My name is Kukuwa Nuamah. I am an internationally acclaimed African Dance Performer, Dance Choreographer, Fitness Dance Instructor and Originator of The Gye Nyame African Cultural Dance Company, and Kukuwa, LLC., of the Kukuwa Dance Workout®. An Adjunct Professor at George Mason University. Born and raised in Ghana West Africa, I have been dancing since the age of 3. Coming from Africa, where dancing is part of our culture, I have used my God given talents to bring me this far into forming two companies which I run with the help of a few employees. I have over 20 years of cultural dance background which enables me to incorporate African dance into my work. I choreograph African soukous, makossa, and Caaribbean soca rhythms into a low impact/high energy cardiovascular, fun-filled energetic class that challenges and improves individuals' fitness abilities. I travel all over the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa presenting my Kukuwa Dance Workouts, KDW® and training instructors. I teach on Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Ships as well as Health Resorts and Spas. I have 12 volumes of my Kukuwa Dance Workout KDW® fitness videos which can be found for purchase on my website www.kukuwadanceworkout.com. I am also an Adjunct Professor at the George Mason University where I teach African Cultural Dance as a credited elective. I counsel clients through nutrition and exercise to achieve their fitness goals. In 2003 I launched my KDW® Instructor Training Certification Program which trains instructors all over the world to teach my trademark patented style of dance fitness. To date I have trained over 500 Instructors in America, Asia, Europe, and Africa and still growing. My dream is to educate both the dance and fitness world of what the true meaning of African dance is and where it originates from, in Africa, which is my native background. In January 2005 I was endorsed by Oprah in 'O' Magazine.
