Kelly Farmer found her love of movement at the young age of 3 when she first began attending dance lessons in Asheville, NC. She quickly developed a knack for stealing the limelight and demanding attention as she performed for audiences in multiple venues in the disciplines of ballet, jazz and the mountain heritage past-time of clogging and square dancing. She continued to follow her passion for dance through the formative years and entered the University of North Carolina - Greensboro in 1989 as a Dance BFA major. During Summer of 1991, Kelly attended the Summer Intensive Program at the Martha Graham School of Dance in New York City, New York. Here her passion changed from a steadfast love of ballet, to an intense connection to Modern dance. After returning to NC for her Junior semester of college, she found herself returning to New York to take up permanent residence just four short months later. She completed her college degree in 1994 as a Dance Education major at Marymount Manhattan College, at which time she continued assisting her former department with administrative and front-of-house production duties and began teaching as an adjunct instructor until leaving NYC in Fall of 1996 for marriage. Since her college years, Kelly has been an avid fitness-oriented individual and decided in 2005 to begin teaching group fitness classes. Since that time she has completed Les Mills certifications in BodyCombat, BodyPump, BodyStep, BodyVive and RPM. She continues to expand her knowledge and own love of movement through continual workshops and conferences in fitness, biomechanical movement and nutrition and supplementation. Most recently Kelly completed a certification in the rapidly-growing program of Tabata Bootcamp and has successfully launched 5 8-week bootcamp sessions in the Fall of 2013.
