Growing up, I never participated in organized sports (I was always the one chosen last) but I was always active. I spent a lot of time cross-country or water skiing, biking, hiking, skating, swimming, or snowshoeing but I never excelled at any one thing. The emphasis was always on having fun! It had to be enjoyable! I try very hard to pass this on my clients as well.
Nobody’s perfect— not even me (quite the shock!). About a decade ago I quit smoking and also discovered the pain-free world of custom–made orthotics. I started running and have completed a four marathons - one in Barbados.
What does that have to do with you? Because I know how hard it is to make lifestyle changes. I offer support and options without judgment. I believe small changes lead to big changes—just one step at a time!
My favorite part of being a trainer is proving to clients they’re stronger than they think they are, watching their confidence grow, and sharing the inevitable moments when they see how far they’ve progressed—whether it’s the ability to climb a flight of stairs without getting winded or to hike up the side of a mountain.
