I have been involved in sports and physical activity from the time I could walk! One of my favorite things to do when I was a kid was to go on family bike rides (I still love a good bike ride). I have tried just about every sport or activity you can think of. In high school I played for a club soccer team while I was swimming, running indoor track and playing soccer for my high school. I did this for all 4 years at school. I have taught swim lessons, I have been a camp counselor as well as a head soccer coach. I decided that I wanted to be involved in sports and physical activity for life so I went after a degree in Kinesiology (the study of human movement). It was in my Junior year at the University of Maryland that I started to realize how much the obesity crisis tugged at my heart strings. I knew I wanted to help people prevent obesity as well as change their lives for the better. I have a passion for health and fitness, a unique understanding of the human body, and I hope to share my passion and knowledge with others and make a difference in the world.
