With over 23 years of experience in the health and fitness industry my primary areas of expertise are in personal training mature and senior adults, and individuals with chronic medical conditions and illness.
With targeted training I achieve in my clients better health, functional fitness and a higher level of fitness.
Some of the focused training my clients seek me out for are:
1. Exercise training to better manage and treat diabetes by reducing blood sugar and A1c, blood pressure, high cholesterol, balance and mobility problems, Parkinson’s, cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, MS, Fibromyalgia’s, joint replacements as well as rare medical conditions.
2. I have extensive experience and training in optimizing strength, balance and mobility in older adults who are beginning to experience balance problems as well as those at high risk for falling including a history of falls. As a certified "FallProof Balance and Mobility Specialist Instructor" and a certified "Stepping-On Workshop Leader; Building Confidence and Reducing Falls in Older Adults". I provide targeted training to improve strength, flexibility and joint stability through resistance training and I can help older adult compensate for changes in the sensory system by optimizing the use of vision, vestibular, and somatosensory systems to reduce risk of falls and fractures.
3. I am often asked to speak on the benefits of exercise in regards to health and wellness.
In 2005 I launched Fitness & Function LLC: NW Mobile Health and Fitness Professionals. Our team of health fitness professionals provide a wide range of in-home wellness services. From personal training, physical therapy, balance and mobility assessments, senior fitness testing, body composition assessments to in-home and on-site first aid, CPR and AED training.
Our sister company Home Fitness Care LLC focuses on in-home exercise training for older adults at high risk of losing independence by providing sufficient exercise under our carful supervision with the goal of aging in place or staying independent in one’s current home.
Earlier in my career I instructed strength research programs with Dr. Wayne Westcott PhD; provided fitness instruction and training in corporate fitness; have provided exercise and fitness training for the federal government; fitness center supervision; staff training; quality assurance; exercise program development for senior communities in not for profit organizations and businesses. I am actively involved in volunteer work for the NWBSC a not-for-profit organization run entirely by volunteers to improve our community through many activities that promote physical activity through safe cycling for children, adults and older adults.     I was looking for a trainer with experience with older people to give me a training regimen for workouts at home. Jacqueline has met my expectations and given me a varied program to work to maintain and improve my fitness level and strengthen my corps.     I have been taking the Ageless Conditioning class at the Elsie Stuhr Center with Jacqueline for over five years. I am also taking her Weight Management and Fitness class. She is a consummate professional highly trained and certified in senior fitness. In addition, her classes are light-hearted and fun for participants without failing to always be attentive to their special needs. My desire to work on my own fitness has been enhanced by her willingness to share insights as to how best to build a regimen that works for me. She is personable, warm and welcoming to those seeking assistance in maintaining their independent status as they experience many of the conditions seniors are subject to. I recommend her without reservation to those desiring a healthier, happier emotional and physical life experience.

    14My husband & I trained with Jacqueline last year and we absolutely loved her. She was very professional, always on time for appointments, very knowledgeable, and I felt I could really trust her with all of my health issues. She addressed all of our concerns and got us started in making some great lifestyle changes with diet and exercise. We got a lot stronger, more balanced, and fit. I would certainly recommend her training and service to anyone, young or old, healthy or not.
