I will never forget my first day of training with Emily. My muscles were so weak, and I was so out of shape that when I did my first squat and row I literally fell backwards because my muscles didn't even know what to do. I follow Emily's training and advice in everything I do in our sessions and at the gym in my own time. I have successfully progressed--with her help--from a wide stance squat and row to a single leg squat and contralateral one armed row on a cable machine at 20 lbs resistance with solid form and posture. That is progress! That is a good trainer! That is Emily!

I couldn't have asked for a better trainer, and I'm so lucky to have found Emily. I struggle with several issues in regards to body image and lack of self esteem, and at around the time I found Emily those issues were quickly putting me into a depressive state. But about 4 weeks into my sessions, after Emily got me on board with a weekly fitness calendar and healthier diet, I began to see some major transformations both physically but most importantly mentally. She's brought me unbelievably closer to reaching an ideal state of mind, and through doing her workouts I've found strength in myself that I didn't even know I had. Emily does a fantastic job of introducing new exercises in order to keep the body guessing, while focusing on both one's strengths and weaknesses in order to mark progress and improvement. I have so much love and respect for Emily, and she's truly been a saving grace and an inspiration.

Emily is a great trainer!

I was bored and unmotivated to go to the gym yet was rapidly gaining weight and becoming unhealthy.

Emily provided me with a precise and calculated program that helped me exceed my goals and expectations. Her knowledge and motivation was the recipe I needed to get back into shape. Emily made working both enjoyable and effective.

Emily has changed my outlook on exercise and fitness. I, too, was a part-time exerciser and a full-time avoider of my fitness. With Emily's guidance, I have become more aware of the balance I need to get fit. It's NO picnic to watch what I drink and eat, but working out with Emily has helped me be more accountable for my choices. Do I sit around and lounge or get up and do some lunges? It really helps to have someone there waiting to hear about how successful I have been in a week. I feel great, look better every month, and know I am getting healthier as I type this review. I HATE exercise! It's something that I have avoided most of my adult life. Gyms did not work. Exercising with friends did not work. I gave up - until one day I picked up Emily's card at the salon where I get my hair cut. Never heard of Emily until the day I called her. She met me at my house and two months later, I'm losing inches, pounds, and my bad attitude! The losses have been wonderful and the gains even better - more strength, positive attitude, better body, and good health...Emily is great - experienced, knowledgeable in both fitness and healthful eating as well as just being a wonderful person! I started working with Emily in NYC before my wedding and continued to work with her for almost 3 more years before she left for California. She helped me get in shape for my wedding, and helped me maintain my exercise program throughout most of my pregnancy (she left a few months before I had my baby). Before she left for California, she went out of her way to connect me with a new trainer who met my needs. She is a fabulous trainer and a great person. I highly recommend her.

I worked with Emily for 2 years when she lived in New York and she was terrific-wish she would come back! She really has an in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works. This knowledge made it possible for me to continue working out in spite of a knee injury. Personal training is not just a job for her, it is her passion. Emily really cares about her client's progress and is always on time and ready to work-a true professional.

Enily was my trainer in NY for nearly a year before she relocated to the West Coast. She is incredibly focused and can align with your goals. She is also very knowledgeable about exercise physiology. For epople scared that trainers will turn out like the mean ones on TV, have no fear. Not only does Emily have the skills to mtoivate and produce results, she is a really nice person.

I'm a 53 year old man, who hadn't been to the gym since high school. Emily was my first trainer, and I am a very lucky man. She was patient, but rigorous, and weight began to fall off right away. My doctor took me off of my high blood pressure medication. Then the strength came, and in no time, the gym became part of my regular, every day routine. I've lost about 60 pounds, and as I sit here, it's just ten minutes after I finished up doing 30 push ups and 40 crunches. I routinely take the 12 flights of stairs to my apartment, run three miles the way I used to walk around the block, and just feel better than I did at 30. Without Emily, I don't know what kind of shape I'd be in.

Emily worked out with me for two years in New York before heading to California. I found her extremely good at diagnosing those muscle groups that needed the most work. She is very professional and, as important, a great pleasure to work with.

We miss her, but understand the reasons she chose Napa.
