Deborah Redder is the creator of the nationally-recognized and award-winning SilverSneakers® group exercise program. From an original 15 fitness centers and 50 instructors to over 10,000 sites nationwide and 6,000 actively teaching instructors, Deborah is credited for creating an industry recognized, standardized delivery system for safe and effective programming specific to older adults. Deborah has guided the successful development of the SilverSneakers instructor continuing education curriculum since 1995 and continues to create innovative physical activity solutions for Healthways. In addition to her expertise in older adult education, Deborah's talent and experience has guided the international growth of competitive aerobics since 1994. She is the former Co-Head Judge for the USA National Aerobic Gymnastics Championship and former USA Technical Director for the International Aerobic Gymnastics Federation. Deborah has completed degrees in health, physical education and exercise science. She is the two-time recipient of the ICAA's Innovation Award for the SilverSneakers Fitness Program and 2008 winner of the Healthways ACE Award for Impact. She has served on the IDEA Leadership Council, ICAA Visionary Borad and has been a continuing education provider, author and presenter for professionals working in the fitness industry since 1989.
