Hello, I was born and raised in Washington DC, moved to Atlanta in 2002.

I have been a Personal Trainer/Nutritionist part-time since 2011. On December 31, 2012, I left my full-time job with the Georgia General Assembly-House of Representatives, to fully pursue my fitness and wellness career. I can't say it's been easy but I can say it was the right and best decision for me. During my time on that job, I started training clients part-time. When I realized, this was what I truly wanted to do and felt good at doing. I have to admit at 41 years old; I was very nervous and decided I just had to take a leap of faith. It was time to start loving and enjoying what I do, no matter how scary it is. After all, I am also a mom to 5 children, ages 17-25. Nothing is much more intimidating then that, maybe nothing but watching your own weight go from 125 to 222 at the heaviest. A weight problem was something I never thought could happen to me. People called me bony, too skinny, etc. all my life, until I had children. I just never thought about gaining weight. In fact, I used to drink something called Weight Gain for a while to try to gain something. During those years, I didn’t workout , didn’t know the importance of it, (especially prior to children), and Strength Train? It never crossed my mind because it was not something I was ever told to do. So, about all I did was walking. When the weight started coming on, I did different things, sometimes Tae Bo, Kathy Smith videos, the Bodyslide and African Dance videos. Sometimes I stuck with it and enjoyed it, but then would get bored. After child #5, and working nights, struggling with Gestational Diabetes during that pregnancy, I decided, I had to invest in me. It was time to hire a trainer, which happened to be a few doors down from my job at the time. I should also mention I was a smoker, from age 15-35. Not a great thing to have going on when working out. Time to change and it worked for a while. After that training period, I was very consistent. I started going to the gym on my own and was very dedicated to it. Thanks to that trainer I had, I was so motivated. Over the next few years, a move, various careers, and life changes happened and began to be excuses. I was too tired, didn’t have the time or money, depressed and so on. Only here I was again, stuck at a desk job and had to find someone to help me focus on me again and hold me accountable. So I did. Over a period of 4 years, I had 2 different trainers and also a Boxing trainer. I had to find the enjoyment in it and the right person to work with. Fortunately for me, I had the right trainers at the right time and they both did what I needed. I also did boot camps and became inspired by yet another trainer to get out there and train people myself. As for Boxing, it made me feel great. It made me feel there was something I was good at. After a while I took on running short distances, then Half, Full and Ultra Marathon races. During all that I discovered obstacle races, another love I have.I even took on Pole Dancing, not for long but I did complete the first phase:) but not for me so much! Just find what you are scared of, what you do well and what you are willing to try, and you can do it. I began a new transformation process, more than once and its okay. I am still transforming, still making the most of me. I can do the same for you. Only you have to be ready to do it. Something I realized is, it’s never too late to start, never too late to get a grip and change. There are going to be good and bad days, setbacks, health issues, negative thoughts and people that can take over, and life’s distractions in general. It’s how we let it affect us. What we do to keep moving and why we must do it. A setback is only temporary and to find the fire within you is most important. It became important to me, to share my story and offer my support, knowledge, motivation, and training experiences into helping someone else achieve their goals. I still have many goals. A few are a triathlon, aquathlon, and participate in as many events as possible. It is very important to me to continue to learn and be a great trainer. To continue to be better, want better, and do better, to keep pushing my limits, as well. It is easy to become depressed and lose sight of ourselves if we allow it to happen. My life was changed and inspired my others, that is what I am giving back. As a trainer, I have successfully helped my clients achieve their goals and choose better habits and lifestyles. They learn how to workout on their own, how to use their bodies, as well as teaching the importance of Nutrition, weight loss, overall, to lead a better quality of life. Whatever the goal, I'm here to see that it's achieved and as much support as I can provide, I do so. My clients have ranged in age from 14-87. Let me know if I can help you too!

    I have been working out with Dawn for just over a month now. I can not recommend her highly enough.

    Each and every workout is unique and challenging which she quickly learned is exactly what I need to keep me focused. Target areas, full body conditioning and mental/emotional support are Dawn's speciality - complete package for fitness success!

    Though it is very hard to pick just one exceptional quality, I would recommend Dawn most for listening to me and my body and making sure that our workouts and her support are an exact fit.

    Starting over with fitness at 56 was a daunting prospect. Dawn has made it an easy committment!

    I am bless to have found Dawn at the Bellafitnessgroup. We attend bootcamp together. I am impressed about Dawn is that she is caring, loving, inspirational, motivator, strong, great person to work with. Dawn and I run races together, she always stay with me and never give up on me. I recommend her to any one who want to lose weight, physical health, healthy diet, nutritional advice.

    I've been working with Dawn since October of last year. "Awesome, Wonderful, Inspiring, Caring, Great" those are just a few words to describe her.

    She is serious about helping individuals get Healthy and Fit.

    I've never felt better, stronger or more confident since working with her. My husband recently asked me when I was going to stop training; my reply "Never".

    I have recommended her to several friends will continue to do so.

    She is absolutely fantanstic!

    I have been training with Dawn for a little over a month now and she is fabulous. She motivates me daily and never lets me quit. It has taken me 54 yrs to get motivated and Dawn is to thank for that. I would recommend her to everyone. Get moving with Dawn, she is the BEST!
